Witch Hazel 2.11

Following The Seasons

After years of painting landscapes on site, often traveling some distance, I became curious of what was nearby. A large Witch Hazel (Hamamelis) grows outside my kitchen. The Witch Hazel produces colorful spiky flowers in the dark of winter, a green array during spring and summer and vibrant colors in the fall. This series of paintings captures the Witch Hazel’s changes, the beginnings, the endings and the repeating cycles.

The following shows include the Following The Seasons paintings series and floral etching prints inspired by wildflowers from my hikes and flowers from favorite gardens.
